    Position Overview

    The Human Resources Director effectively develops, evaluates and executes process and programs in associate relations, benefits and compliance in alignment with the company’s strategic goals. This position reports to the SVP of corporate and property operations.
     
    Leadership:

    • Lead and develop the team which includes an HR staff of 2 Generalists, and office administrative staff of an Administrative Assistant, Receptionist and 2 Office Assistants.

     
    Associate Relations:

    • Effectively manage associate relations matters to foster a positive work environment, a high level of engagement, and high productivity.  Direct the Generalists, and advise and coach regional leaders, Community Managers and corporate leaders regarding appropriate actions to create consistency and minimal legal risk.
    • Lead investigations of all workplace issues to discover facts, identify potential liability to the Company and facilitate resolution.
    • Oversee all associate written counselings and action plans.
    • Oversee all involuntary terminations.

     
    Benefits:

    • Select, evaluate, manage and administer all company’s benefits programs including health insurances, 401(k) plans, time off and associate assistance.
    • Review insurance carriers and offerings to minimize cost and maintain value-add to associates.
    • Select and manage vendors and consultants.

     
    Compliance:

    • Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and ensure the company’s compliance.
    • Continuously review policies, procedures and practices, and recommend improvements to executive management.
    • Effectively communicate changes in policies and procedures and ensure compliance company-wide.
    • Manage and advise executive team on actual and potential class action matters.
    • Consult with legal counsel on complex matters.
    • With Payroll, maintain Ceridian Dayforce human resource information system.
    • With Controller, provide Payroll oversight including check processing and 401(k) compliance.
    • Oversee processes and procedures for hiring, leaves of absence and terminations.
    • Partner with Risk Management on handling workers compensation matters.

     
    Please apply if you have:

    • HR Manager or Director experience preferably including multi-site and multi-state experience
    • Experience developing HR programs regarding rewards, performance development and engagement desirable
    • Bachelor degree required and master degree preferred in HR or business
    • PHR or SPHR designation preferred
    • Solid knowledge of employment laws
    • In depth knowledge of benefit programs
    • Effective consultative approach with associate relations issues
    • Highly collaborative with strong leadership and influencing skills
    • Highly adaptable and flexible to support business needs
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills and presentation
    • Superior judgment, strategic thinking, decision making and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and confidence as a trusted advisor with a variety of leaders
    • Flexibility for travel
