    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant for the Payroll team has the following reporting and auditing responsibilities:

    • Calculate payroll and health care costs by property (business entity) and initiate reimbursements
    • Prepare payroll journal entries
    • Prepare remittance vouchers for rent deductions due to various properties
    • Reconcile wages to payroll tax reports processed by third party administrator
    • Manage outstanding payroll check register
    • Assist with payroll audits
    • Review 401(k) election changes and remit payments to our plan administrator
    • Assist with 401(k) audits
    • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws specific to payroll reporting and compliance regulations
    • Prepare various ad hoc reports

    Please apply if you have:

    • 2+ years of general accounting experience
    • An understanding of accounting principles
    • Analytical skills including efficient problem solving and the ability to see big picture concepts
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Intermediate Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables

    It's a plus if you also have:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting
    • Accounting experience within the property management industry
    • Payroll processing experience
    • 401(k) administration experience
    • Ceridian Dayforce experience
